How it works?

Soak the Inner bag in the cold water for 5-10 minutes, the special crystals absorbs the water and expands into a gel. Squeeze out the excess water and pat it dry with towel or tissue paper. Wait for 5 minutes; when air reacts with the gel, creating the cooling effect. Insert insulin pen or vial into the inner bag. Then inner bag can be placed now in outer bag. It is vital that the cooling bag should be in constant contact with air to enable the evaporation process and must not be placed in air tight plastic bag or container. Remember, when water is evaporating it is cooling.

Can I clean my cooling bag?

The outer bag can be washed with mild detergent using warm water. The inner bag can be clean with brush dip into the water, do not soak inner bag into soapy water. You can also rinse the bag under running tap water without damaging the gel inside. DO NOT PLACE BAG INTO WASHING MACHINE.

My bag is still swollen after 1 to 2 weeks

It may take 1 to 2 weeks to completely dry out, when it is used in winter. In summer season cooling bag can be dried in 2 – 3 days.

My bag does not swell as it used to

After age it will take more time for the gel to absorb water. If bag does not swell at all, it means gel no longer functional and it is time to replace. Generally if it used properly, the life of crystals is 2 to 3 years or may be longer.

My bag is sticky

This is not a defect, if your bag is sticky it means it is over-soaked and causing gel to force the fabric. If it happens, completely dry it out and soak in water again. DO NOT PUT INTO A CLOTHES DRYER!

My bag develop odour

It may develop odour if is not completely dried out. If odour persist, please refer to the cleaning process.

Can it be used for other medications?

What is the average life span of a cooling bag?

If properly used and cared the cooling bag last for 36 months or longer. As long as crystals expand to gel, when soaked in water, the bag will keep insulin cool and safe. As bag age it will take more time to activate with water.

Can I hand carry Insulin bag at the airport?

This bag is exempted from the liquid, aerosol and gels regulation if they are included on your doctor’s prescription letter is being showing that it is necessary part of diabetes supplies and equipment.
